Northwest Assistance Ministries was founded by a collection of area congregations in 1983, who decided to cross the lines of denomination and pool their resources to help their neighbors in Northwest Houston. They are committed to serve in a spirit of humility and charity and to enable people toward independence while respecting racial, cultural, and religious differences.

Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) provides many different types of services for our community. These services include a Children’s Clinic, Assistance Program with Shelter and Energy, Meals on Wheels, Family Violence Center, Food Pantry and more.

As a covenant congregation with NAM, the Church of Champions is teaming up for NAM's “Survival Over Summer” initiative. This initiative focuses on the hunger of needy children during the summer months. We want to help them by collecting the following items:

Survival Over Summer Items:

• Peanut Butter
• Jelly
• Spaghetti Sauce
• Canned Pasta
• Canned Fruit
• Dry Cereal
• Dry Soup
• Canned Tuna
• Mac & Cheese
• Can Soup, Vegetables or Meat
